  • The birth flower of March is the Dafoldil and for many it's flowering in the wild marks the comming of spring.

  • The name of March comes from Latin Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named for Mars, the Roman god of war.

  • March starts on the same day of the week as November every year.

  • March ends on the same day of the week as June every year.

  • The March equinox on the 20th or 21st marks the astronomical beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

  • Zodiac signs for March are Pisces (until March 20) and Aries (March 21 onwards).

  • Albert Einstein was born on the March 14, 1879.

  • Typically the month of the year when hibernating animals emerge.
