Terms and Condition of Sale
Estimates and Quotations
In order to offer a truly personal and bespoke service to brides Carole Smith undertakes a strictly limited number of weddings each year. Whilst every effort will be made to maintain an available date following a consultation, the preparation of an estimate or quotation does not in itself constitute an offer for sale or indicate that a wedding date is secured.
Quotations or estimates can be prepared from the initial consultation even if colour and quantities have not been determined, individual prices for buttonholes, boutonnieres and table arrangements etc can be determined and quantities and colours finalised much closer to your wedding date.
Following a firm booking (see ‘Securing Your Wedding Date’ below), Carole Smith can arrange to visit wedding or reception venues either to help design suggestions or finalise quotations.
Securing Your Wedding Date
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure a wedding date, with the balance becoming due one month prior to your wedding date. On receipt of a deposit Carole Smith will confirm in writing that your wedding date is secured. Brides are advised to book as early as possible to avoid the possibility of disappointment.
Your final balance must be paid no later than one month before your wedding date.
Brides may meet with Carole as many times as they wish in order to ensure they are satisfied with their final wedding flower designs.
Design changes, colours and quantities must be finalised at least 3 weeks prior to your wedding date.
Although we will make every effort to supply flowers and sundries as discussed, all flower products and sundries are subject to availability. In the event of any supply difficulties, we reserve the right to substitute with a product of equivalent value and quality without notice.
In the absence of the bride (or customer) Carole Smith is the final arbitrator of design and may make design decisions in order to facilitate suitable and timely completion of designs prior to delivery on the morning of the wedding.
Hire of Sundries
Unless otherwise specifically stated, all glassware, wrought ironwork, pedestal stands, jardinière and lighting are provided on hire and remain the property of Carole Smith. Such items should be made available for collection, the day following your wedding. Un-returned or damaged items will be charged for at full retail value.
For certain hired items an additional deposit cheque may be requested and held un-cashed until the safe return of all hired items.
In the event that hired items are not returned, (without prior agreement) within 1 week of your wedding, deposit cheques will be cashed and the full retail value of un-returned items will be deducted from your deposit and the balance refunded.
Deposit cheques will be destroyed following the safe return of all hired items.
Delivery and Access
Whilst Carole Smith will negotiate directly with church and other venue authorities to help plan the smooth execution of your wedding flower decoration, it is ultimately the bride’s responsibility to ensure that flower decorations are acceptable and that adequate time and access are provided for delivery and setup at churches, civil ceremony and reception venues.
For an additional fee Carole Smith can arrange to move church flowers to your reception venue, occasionally some church authorities require that certain flower decorations remain in the church as a condition of the marriage ceremony; it is therefore the responsibility of the bride to determine what is acceptable to the church authorities.
Cancellations should be notified by telephone as soon as possible and must be confirmed in writing.
In the event of cancellation any deposit paid is non-refundable.
In order to provide the very highest quality flowers and foliage, all wedding flowers are ordered and purchased in advance for each individual wedding from first class growers worldwide through their UK agents. As a consequence, all cancellations within 4 weeks of a wedding date accrue a cancellation fee of 100% of the total price of the wedding order.
